2017 Saint Francis of Assisi, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
New Release: 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon – Saint Francis of Assisi
A Bold and Layered Napa Classic with a Giving Heart for Winter
We are honored to unveil Saint Francis of Assisi, the inaugural wine in our new Saint Series—a Cabernet Sauvignon rooted not only in Napa Valley tradition, but in purpose. Inspired by Saint Francis’s legacy of generosity, humility, and reverence for all life, a portion of proceeds from each bottle will support a Franciscan organization to be named. This wine is crafted as a tribute to meaning, stewardship, and shared humanity.
Only 250 cases were produced, and no additional vintages or bottlings of this wine will be made. Each Saint Series release is intentionally limited, making every bottle a rare and thoughtful offering—perfect for winter gatherings, contemplative moments, and meaningful occasions.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a striking expression of Napa Valley’s ability to produce wines of power and elegance. Aged in 100% new oak—a carefully considered blend of French, Russian, and American barrels—this vintage achieves a seamless balance of fruit, spice, and texture. Awarded 93 points by The Tasting Panel, it is a wine of depth and distinction that leaves a lasting impression.
Aromas of ripe blueberry and cedar lead the nose, accented by a subtle whisper of basil. As the wine opens, deeper notes of leather and slate emerge, revealing its layered complexity. On the palate, dark fruit unfolds alongside balsamic undertones, framed by silky tannins and a refined structure. Nuances of vanilla, toast, and warm spice from oak aging carry through to a long, resonant finish that invites reflection and lingering enjoyment.
The depth and structure of this Cabernet make it an exceptional partner for winter cuisine and richly flavored dishes. Pair it with braised short ribs, roasted venison, prime rib, or herb-crusted lamb for memorable meals. Vegetarian pairings shine with wild mushroom risotto, truffle pasta, or butternut squash ravioli. Aged cheeses such as Gouda, Comté, or artisanal cheddar provide a luxurious complement, especially when served with spiced nuts and dried figs.
Whether poured at a candlelit winter table, shared as a meaningful gift, or opened to mark a special moment, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon – Saint Francis of Assisi brings depth, generosity, and timeless elegance to the winter season.
