2016 Trinitots Cabernet Sauvignon, Family Collection

Everything at Trinitas comes in threes, even the start of our third generation. Originally with a due date of 3/3, Garrett and his wife Betsy welcomed triplets into their  family in early 2016. The triplets, Jameson, Reagan and Remington, are the first official members of the third generation of the Trinitas family and were easily coined as the “Trinitots”. Given the serendipity of it all, they felt compelled to make a bottle in their honor! After many blending sessions, we arrived at a finalized wine, and it sure is delicious. It is an equal blend sourced from 3 Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards: Pelkan Ranch, Martin, and Father Mathew. 

The character of the three unique vineyard sites meld together to create a dynamic expression of North Coast Cabernet. It opens with captivating aromas of plum, blackberry, red currant, chocolate, graphite, and molasses. Flavors of cherry, black currants, boysenberry, mint, and herbal tea saturate the palate, and build to a persistent finish framed by gentle tannins and toasty oak notes. It is bold and approachable Cabernet that balances purity of fruit with wonderful varietal typicity. When the triplets grow old enough to enjoy a bottle, we are sure they will be proud of their namesake wine!
